A New Deal for International Engagement in Fragile Situations

H.E. Emilia Pires, Finance Minister of Timor-Leste, Chair of the g7+ group of fragile states, and Co-chair of the International Dialogue on Peacebuilding and Statebuilding made a presentation on the new architecture to work in fragile states that will be proposed by the International Dialogue in Busan, under the leadership of the g7+ and with the support of international partners, in a meeting of the IDA Working Group during the 2011 Annual Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund held in Washington DC, USA from 23-25 September 2011.

Minister Pires presented the new Peacebuilding and Statebuilding Goals (PSGs), which are the foundation of this new architecture and shared how to increase country ownership and improve the delivery and use of aid for successful transitions out of fragility and to build peaceful states.
