Notice of Seizure

If your goods are seized by Customs, you will receive a Notice of Seizure.

A Notice of Seizure:

  • gives important advice and information on what you can do following the seizure of goods, including vehicles, by Customs
  • details who to contact, and
  • lists the items seized.

The Notice of Seizure will be sent to you if you or your agent were not present when the goods were seized.

If Customs seizes goods in your presence, or your Customs Broker’s presence, a notice will be given and the reason for the seizure will be explained in person.
