High-Level Consultation on the G20 Cannes Summit: Perspectives from Asia-Pacific

On October 11 and 12, His Excellency the Vice Minister of Finance, Rui Manuel Hanjam, and his delegation traveled to Bangkok, Thailand, for the purpose of participating in the high level consulting meeting convened and organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific – UNESCAP, which His Excellency the Vice Minister of Finance performed as a key speaker and chair in one of the sessions. UNESCAP aimed to involve representatives of 29 Asia and Pacific countries, including China, Japan, USA and Singapore, in a debate on current issues and newsworthy in the global economic outlook, in particular, to give a voice to these country representatives in expressing their concerns and perspectives, enriching and stipulating aspects to be included on the Agenda of the 6th Summit of the G20 to be held in Cannes, France, on November 3 and 4, 2011.
