The DPMU has a strategic role in supporting the Government of Timor-Leste and Development Partners to effectively implement development cooperation for the improvement of the lives of the people of Timor-Leste. The DPMU adheres to the New Deal principles that were agreed in Busan in 2011. As such, DPMU ensure that all development assistance is in line with Timor-Leste’s SDP.
DPMU Mandate, MoF Organic Law
- Draft, promote, socialize and ensure the implementation of the policies, strategies and procedures, in line with the principles of the New Deal in the area of the effective and efficient management of development assistance in Timor-Leste
- Strengthen coordination between state agencies and development partners in order to ensure a better use of development assistance in accordance with the development priorities determined by the government.
- Review and report on the impact, effectiveness and efficiency of development assistance through several methods including the management of a database system and active participation in M&E missions.
- Promote the active participation of Timor-Leste in national and international forums, including the sharing of experiences and relevant knowledge concerning the assistance provided by Timor-Leste to other countries.
