Aid Effectiveness 2005-2010: Progress in Implementing the Paris Declaration

H.E. Emilia Pires, Minister of Finance, RDTL took part as a panel member in the “Aid Effectiveness 2005-2010: Progress in Implementing the Paris Declaration” held at The Brookings Institution, Falk Auditorium, 1775 Massachusetts Ave, NW, Washington DC.  Minister Pires shared the experience of Timor-Leste in managing aid coordination work to the audience composed of representatives from the donor agencies and civil society organizations. The event also launched the results of the 2011 Global Monitoring Report on International Engagement in Fragile States by the OECD.

Among the other panelists include Mr. Talaat Abdel-Malek, co-Chair, Working Party on Aid Effectiveness; J. Brian Atwood, Chair, OECD Development Assistance Committee; Paul O’Brien, Vice-President for Policy and Campaigns, Oxfam America and Ms. Brenda Killen, Head, Aid Effectiveness Department, OECD who replaced K.Y. Amoako, Founder and President of the African Center for Economic Transformation and former Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa. The event was moderated by Mr. Homi Kharas, Senior Fellow and Deputy Director, Global Economy and Development, Development Assistance and Governance Initiative.
