BRC starts discussing the 2016 budget

The Budget Review Committee (BRC) will meet individually with all Ministries, Secretaries of State and other institutions to prepare the State Budget for 2016. This Commission, integrating representatives from the Government key sectors, which will last for more than a week staring from the 7th – 17th September 2015 in the Ministry of Finance, will meet with the ministries and institutions, for an analysis of the submitted proposals that will serve as a basis for the preparation of the 2016 budget.
The meeting is chaired directly by H.E. Dr. Rui Maria de Araújo, the Prime Minister and co-chaired by the Coordinating Ministers and Minister of Finance.
The Government proposed a fiscal envelope of US$ 1.3 billion for the 2016 budget. The proposed amount is expected to finance the identified priorities sectors for 2016, which are education, health, agriculture and basic infrastructures.
