Dili- Ministry of Finance’s Training Center of organized a ceremony of certificatedistribution to Ministry of Finance’s staff who have attended Portuguese language courses. The course was provided for free by Embassy of Brazil in Timor-Leste. The objective of this course is to increase staff ‘s ability in Portuguese language so that they can perform better their role as State Civil Servants particularly in areas which require Portuguese language
Mr. Jose Antonio Fatima Abilio, Director-General for Coorperate Services, Ministry of Finance in his remarks on this ceremony, requested staff who attended this course to use the opportunity to learn and practice their language skill in their day to day work. On this occassion, Director-General also thanked the Embassy of Brazil for continuing support in providing this Portuguese language course and look forward to have this course continue in the future since Portuguese language is one of the official language in Timor-Leste.
Mr. Alexandre who is the Program Coordinator for this Portuguese course confirmed that they will continue this course for Ministry’s staff. The Brazilian mission will bring more new teachers to teach Portuguese language. Therefore, , if there is more Ministry of Finance staff who have interest to learn Portuguese language, they will continue to support.
This is the second ceremony conducted in this year, which around 15 staff. compared with the first one with around 39 staff who completed the courses.
After the ceremony, both Ministry of Finance’s Training Center and Brazilian Mission agreed to continue the Portuguese language courses. For the new entry who have an interest, there will be a placement test to identify their level of class. For those who have completed and received certificate, there is always an opportunity for them to continue if they want to. The new classes will commence on first week of October 2013.
The Ceremony was conducted on August 29, 2013 from 10am to 12pmat Ministry of Finance’s Training Center. . Participated on this ceremony including Mr. Jose Antonio Fatima Abilio, Director-General for Corporate Services, Mr. Felix Piedade, Acting Coordinator for Training Center, Mr. Alexandre Silveira, the Program Coordinator for the course,and Mr. Saul Sarmento, represented Ambassador of Brazil in Timor-Leste. The two teachers, Ms. Helena Karla Isoppo Sehmid and Ms. Marilucia Marques do Espirito Santo also Ministry of Finance staff who were part of the courses participated on this course.
