Ministry of Finance Training Center
Ministry of Finance’s Training Center organized a certification ceremony to distribute certificates to staff from the Ministry of Finance who participated and passed the English language course and also successfully completed the Basic Accounting course on 7 November 2013 at the Ministry of Finance’s Training Center.
Mr. Mark Juba, Director of LELI (Lorosa’e English Language Institute) congratulated all staff who passed the English course, and commented on the excellent levels of participation and enthusiasm demonstrated during the training. He also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Finance who has given their trust to LELI to continue the English language training. Mr. Juba continued by emphasizing that LELI will ensure to provide even better services including the assignment of permanent and qualified English teachers for each class. During his conclusion, Mr. Juba assured that LELI will continue to work closely and continue to strengthen the relationship with the Training center in organizing the English classes at the Ministry of Finance Training’s Center.
Mr. Felix Piedade, Acting Coordinator for Ministry of Finance’s Training Center on his brief introduction, congratulated all staff who passed the English language course and have moved to the next level, and he also congratulated the 4 staff who have completed the Basic Accounting Course. Mr. Piedade explained the minimum attendance rate of 80% and also minimum final score of 60% for staff to pass on a course as one of the policies and procedures that has been put in place since the establishment of this training center. He called the attention of all staff who will continue the course to show commitment and seriousness while attending the course. Mr. Piedade also reminded all staff to take advantage of learning from this course because not everyone at the Ministry of Finance has the same opportunity, and also that not all other Government Ministries implement these programs. To end, Mr. Piedade thanked LELI for the continued support to improve the English language of Ministry of Finance staff and looks forward to good work and collaboration with LELI in future courses.
Approximately 66 staff participated in the certification ceremony and another 4 staff who passed the Basic Accounting Course. For continuation of English course, there will be 8 classes in the next round (from November 2013 until early March 2014) compared with only 6 classes in the previous round. For Basic Accounting course, it was the first time organized in 2013 with around 15 staff participated ann only 4 passed. The continuation of Basic Accounting course will be conducted in 2014.
