Today the Minister of the Ministry of Finance launched its Aid Information Management System (AIMS). The Ministry of Finance, Timor-Leste through the National Directorate for Aid Effectiveness (NDAE), oversees aid management and coordination in Timor-Leste. The use of this customized Aid Information Management System is an important step for both Government and Donor agencies to better understand the development effort that is being provided and be able to allocate, plan and harmonize efficient and effective interventions in the future. Data from this system will also be integrated into the Financial Management system of the Ministry of Finance.
From planning through implementation of foreign aid projects, government officials and donors will use the AMP to enter and edit information, easily generate charts, graphs, and maps to monitor vital trends and statistics, and produce reports on public development spending. AMP Timor-Leste has been highly customized to provide easy access for all users; it supports the national development framework, reduces administrative workload and costs, and enables close coordination with donors.
The Ministry of Finance, Aid Information Management System (AIMS), the Aid Management Platform (AMP) has been developed by Development Gateway with support from the Government of Japan, Australia and the ADB.
