Dili, October 5, 2020 – The budget allocated to the Ministry of Finance for the year 2020, was approved by the National Parliament in the context of a special debate with 42 votes in favor, no votes against and 21 abstentions.
The General State Budget allocated to the Ministry of Finance for 2020 totals USD $ 16,513 million; of this amount, USD $ 3,514 million was allocated for salaries and wages, USD $ 12,977 million for goods and services, 0 for public transfers, 0 for minor capital and 0 for development capital.
The National Parliament also approved the Covid-19 Fund Budget with 41 votes in favor, 1 vote against and 18 abstentions; thus, the Covid-19 Fund Budget passed the debate in specialty.
The budget allocated to the Covid-19 Fund totals USD $ 220.24 million. Of this amount, there was no allocation (0) for wages and salaries. The allocation of this amount was only for Goods and Services for a total of USD $ 85,587 Million; USD $ 120,451 million for public transfers; USD $ 4,050 million for minor capital, and USD $ 10,160 million for development capital.
